Me too. Seems this is a very, very common problem. I would think the makers of the board would find a solution to this problem. Seems to be getting worse instead of better.

Often find that using the "SEARCH" function for "stk500" will bring up a lot of hits for the issue and almost as many answers...just saying.

Try to your code without connected jumpers on your arduino board or disconnect power jumper (5v). If problem persist, disconnect from USB port and try again.
