OK, I'm going to try to do this, I'm trying to get some other stuff done where I live which will place serious limitations on my efforts to this end, but I'll try. This will take weeks and weeks.

I worked with this, and I solved it. I've been using some code that you posted a couple of years / 3 years back, and have steadily been getting more promising results. I altered some of the code right in the area where the subroutine (getPage) is called, and it worked. Thank you. I can get some complex web pages to load in here, it's working really well. I don't know if maybe a quicker baud rate will help the serial window fill up faster possibly??? I have not tweaked baud rates to any extent, and don't know what results that approach might yield. ??? Thanks again.
Highest serial baud rate possible. I use 115200.

That is the brand name of the RJ45 connector.Without a schematic of your board, I can't help you. Can you find a picture of your shield?
I also have the same issue with my ethernet shield (i.e. I need to do the trick with reset button when re-flashing Arduino UNO R3). I ordered the shield a while ago from eBay (item number 161406767592).
I see a picture, but no schematic on that page. However, the picture shows a lack of the reset IC that the Arduino ethernet shield uses.

and to fix the problem just remove two parts on the ethernet shield.
