I have some NodeMCU ESP8266 boards and I have never managed to program them with the normal Arduino IDE, but with the online version if I had done it before. Today when I try it I get the error "EXIT STATUS 2" but for more than I investigate on the Internet I do not find any of that error. I'm using Mac OS Catalina, will it have anything to do with it?
There is a dedicated section for the online version; https://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?board=105.0.
I'm not familiar with the online version. But I'm quite sure that the error message says more than just "EXIT STATUS 2". There might be a button 'copy error messages' (which will copy the errors to the clipboard) or you can scroll through the window that displays the error message (copy the content of the window; it will copied to the clipboard). Next paste the clipboard content in a post.
I don't think you used CREATE before for ESP's unless you have a subscription.
Catalina has a lot of its very own issues and the forum is littered with them.
Please do as sterretje asked.
