Problems and questions concerning bluetooth

Hi Everybody,

I am pretty new to Arduino and also to this forum, so please forgive possible easy mistakes. I have an Arduino Uno, a Bluetooth Mate Silver from Sparkfun, a Laptop (Windows 7) with a bluetooth dongle and a Samsung Galaxy Ace with Android 2.3.6

I managed to get a serial communication via bluetooth between the Arduino and my laptop using the serial monitor of the arduino software. But i have the following problems / questions and hope that you can help me

  1. After about 30 seconds the serial monitor of the arduino software freezes and i can only kill the whole program. Is there anyway to fix this?

  2. To avoid problem 1, i tried to use Putty, but it never opens the serial monitor no matter which configurations i set. Any ideas? Do you other programs for windows and serial communication?

  3. My cell phone doesn't find the Bluetooth Mate Silver. It did once before i used the bluetooth dongle on my laptop and it works with any other bluetooth device. Any ideas whats wrong here?

Thank you very much in advance!

I kinda solved problem 1 and 2 by finding another good programm to monitor the serial connection: Termite.
But I still can't find the RN-42 with my cell phone. Does anyone has an idea or a good website to read about this issue?

I have the same problem with Samsung Galaxy ACE: I can't see the bluetooth module. Did you solved the problem ?
