Problems transfering my Ardunio from being power from laptop to 240V mains

Hi all,

I've designed a touch design lamp and have completed all of the programing and circuit design up to now. With the project getting close to the end I wanted to power the lamp/Arduino via the mains and this is where the problem begins. It works fine when being power by my laptop/desk top Pc, but when I connect it to the main the lamp seem to have a mind of its own and doesn't work correctly. Does anyone know what the problem is? How to solve it?
