Problems with Yun WiFi and Ethernet. [Solved]

Initially all I tried was changing the AP network security settings (WPA2)

reset the device and boom; couldnt connect to wifi and i couldnt reset the device.

(so i tried to run this command:
/usr/bin/run-avrdude /etc/arduino/Caterina-Yun.hex)

[notable that it froze up so i restarted the yun]

afterwards L13 is just fading in an out and couldnt uplaod anything (until i restarted the yun)
now i can upload sketches but the wifi is still trying to connect every so often.

I uploaded yuntoserial sketch so i can get terminal access but i can't figure out a solution.
I tried connecting directly with ethernet but my aptop and yun will not associate; it just keeps trying and trying getting nowhere....

what ive tried: holding each of the RST buttons (one at a time) for 60 seconds
ANyway i can reflash with the microsd card?

To put linino back to where it was after the last sysupgrade (or when you got it out of the box if you haven't sysupgraded):
Load yunserialterminal
Open serial monitor, set line ending to newline
Push yun reset button (the one by the leds)
Put an "f" in the text box at the top of the serial monitor
Wait for the failsafe prompt, press enter
Run firstboot at the root@none prompt
Wait for AT LEAST 5 minutes.
Press yun reset again

Thanks for the response, i've been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out! I will try this as soon as I can.

another option i heard was to use an external programmer to reflash. hopefully i can avoid spending another 20$ on something ill probably only use once....

OKay so update;

root@(none):/# /sbin/firstboot

What's the point of waiting at least 5 minutes?

nvm; did a google search. it's common with flash to wait with low RAM so that setup files aren't lost in the RAM.

Noblepepper you just saved me hours of work!! Thank you so much!!!
Yun is back up and running again without a hitch. Perfect!

Actually I think it is fine to reboot when you get the [   31.120000] JFFS2 notice: (528) jffs2_build_xattr_subsystem: complete building xattr subsystem, 0 of xdatum (0 unchecked, 0 orphan) and 0 of xref (0 dead, 0 orphan) found. . It just seems like 60 seconds is an eternity when you are staring at a computer screen waiting on something like this. If I say 60 seconds a lot of people will get itchy at 15 seconds and reboot

lol, so true
