Son's latest assignment "Mechanized T-Shirt Launcher with computerized aiming". I am going to leave all the computerized programing of the 2 wired motors to his "project group" as I know nothing about it.
I need good advice on what Arduino products to buy to do 2 things...Motorized "1-Panning and 2-Tilting" of the 4lb to 6lb PVC Gun Barrel. It is to be mounded on a 20'' diameter, 7lb, wooden, lazy Susan disk turning atop a 30'' wooden disk. Perhaps the motor (or rubber wheel with the motor) that would turn the top disk is easy advice for you guys that that know all about this stuff. For me I would be making a wild guess.
The harder advice I need is how to raise and lower the 3' or 4' Barrel with repeatable accuracy and the same computer program that directs the panning disk. In my mind I envision a motorized telescopic shaft........strong enough to raise and lower the 4lb to 6lb PVC barrel and not be broken when the gun is fired. This would have to be mounted mid-barrel (from the lazy Susan disk) for the weight to be centered. It will not fall left or right as barrel bottom will pivot on a t-shaft axil.
Any and all advice as to what I need to buy (item numbers helpful) is much abbreviated. I don't mind spending money and failing. Like Edison, I want to move forward even if it is just to learn what doesn't work. Much Thanks! Bob P. S. Not apposed to talking on the phone.
