Programme any board wirelessly

Hi,

I usually work on projects that involve programming along with electricity connections.

So I usually make some stupid mistakes that risk my expensive laptop.

The last one was when I powered an esp with 9v battery and plugged that to the laptop.

Which cause my laptop to go completely dead.

I want to know what is the best way to prevent that from happening again.

It will be good if there is someway to not connect the laptop to the board (wireless communication).

They make isolating USB connectors, not cheap but much less than a laptop. Also I highly recommend you get a copy of the Arduino Cookbook and read it cover to cover, so you get an understanding of how this stuff works and what it does not like. Again much less expensive than a new computer.

Yes, I know that there are a lot of those that don't work (just don't protect your laptop).

Is there any commercial usb isolator from a legit company you can suggest?

Thanks for the suggestion.

I cannot recommend anything as I built my own. But Adafruit is a good company that offer a nice looking one: Adafruit USB Isolator - 100mA Isolated Low/Full Speed USB : ID 2107 : $34.95 : Adafruit Industries, Unique & fun DIY electronics and kits
