Programming Baby Orangutan on Arduino IDE with FT232RL Programmer

I have a Baby Orangutan from Pololu and FTDI232 programmer. I want to program my Baby Orangutan on Arduino IDE but I don't know how the connections should be and the other steps on computer. Help?

First, FTDI232 is not a Programmer, it is just a USB/Serial adapter. If the Orangutan does not have the IDE's bootloader installed on it, the IDE can't talk to it via the FTDI module. You need a Programmer that connects to Reset, Power, GND, and SCK/MISO/MOSI on the '328P to install the bootloader. I have an older version of this Programmer for installing Bootloaders. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/usbasp-avr-programming-device-for-atmel-proccessors.html

I really thank you for replying me because I literally can't find anything on this topic. So, does this card can work for me?

Someone else will need to answer for now, I can't get to pololu, com from here.

It’s unclear whether that programmer is supported by the Arduino IDE without additional configuration.

There is a documentation about that: https://www.pololu.com/docs/pdf/0J17/orangutan_arduino.pdf

I also installed the driver and the plugin for Arduino IDE. Pololu AVR Programmer is listed under Programmer section in the IDE. I don't expect any problem for now. I will post the result as soon as I get the AVR Programmer.

Can I use an Arduino UNO to program my Baby Orangutan? I found articles about programming Arduino Pro Mini with UNO.

http://www.instructables.com/id/Uploading-sketch-to-Arduino-Pro-Mini-using-Arduino/step2

As it says there, Connect UNO's RESET Pin to mini's GRN. But I am not sure what to do since there is no GRN pin on my orangutan.

You should be able to do so but not following the instructions at that instructable. That instructable is telling you how to use an Uno as the equivalent of an FTDI FT232 adapter. As you've already been told, that won't work for the Orangutan. Instead you need to use the Uno as the equivalent of the Pololu USB AVR programmer. To do that you need to follow the instructions for using the Uno as "Arduino as ISP" found here: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/ArduinoISP
