Project 12 - Knock Lock

I'm a complete beginner to Arduino and what I'm about to ask will probably be a very silly question, however;

In the guide it explains that the 3 coloured leads from the servo motor need to be connected to the live, ground and in series with a runner wire to Pin 9 on the Arduino, but the issue I have is that I have to connect male pins into the female connector that the servo motor has, and with this, it seems impossible to connect the wires in the correct orientation on the breadboard. How do I remedy this?

Connect 3 wires, with male pins on each end, from the servo plug to the breadboard.
