Project for School

Hi, we have a project for school that requires us to build a robot and participate in either a torque competition or speed competition. Our motors are servo motors, and I was wondering if anyone could help me decide which one would be more feasible with the servo, and better to code for with Arduino. Thank you!

You need a lot more information than that. What design of robot? What sort of "servo motors"? How are you going to power the robot? How much time do you have? What experience of programming and building robots do you have? And most important - what are the rules of the two competitions?

Pure speed is very easy to program. Provide a lot of power and run the motors at full speed until you hit something or run out of power. But I bet there's more to it than that.

Not my strongest area.... but I have never known 'servos' to be very fast.

And for torque... you need to get a servo that matches what you want to move/lift/push..etc

Some have plastic or metal arms and gears..
Some have different gear ratios as well..

Read my post in the Intrductory Tutorials section.

There is a significant difference between ‘servos’ and servo motors. sho

It's just unfortunate that the Arduino tutorials refer to what almost all of us call servos as "servo motors". It makes it almost impossible to be sure what people are talking about.
