Project help: Confused on some electronic components I may need for my project.

Hello, I am currently working on a project that weighs items placed into a mason jar, and displays the weight on an LCD monitor. This is the first small project I am working on, and I need help deciding which electronic components are required for this project.

I am currently buying the:
Arduino Arduino Uno Ultimate Starter Kit + LCD Module -- Includes 72 page Instruction Book
link: http://www.amazon.com/Arduino-Ultimate-Starter-Includes-Instruction/dp/B00HI0RYJK/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8

Questions:

Should I buy a seperate LCD monitor that would be easier to work with, compared to the monitor included in the starter kit?

Also, what load cell should I buy that is specifically made for the arduino or one that would be the most user friendly?

Any other suggestions that would help the project?

Thank you,
JM

The LCD you are getting should suffice.
The RobotShop sells a shield and load cells.
