I got a project I would like to build:

  1. Make a rss reader to display news feed on a lcd screen. I would like to have this as a stand alone box that updates rss feed or feeds wirelessly.

I would like this to be like a news crawl I set beside my television. Not sure what would be the best screen to use. Any ideas on what sort of problems I am going to have?
I am thinking I will need an Ardunio dem, a wireless shield, a power supply, LCD screen and an enclosure. What am I missing?

Thanks for the reply. I have looked around for some time. The RSS reader projects are everywhere, however, none of the ones I have found incorporate a wireless shield.

I would like to know if this build will work before I purchase the wifi shield. They tend to be rather pricey and you hate to get one only to find out that it can't handle some aspect of the build.

One other issue I would like to address is the LCD screen.

I would like for it to be easily read from across the room, so maybe a crawl of letters about an inch or so high and at least 4 to 8 inches across.

Anyone know what might fit this bill?
