The 5V charger can produce a higher wattage than the 9V battery: 5V * 0.7A = 3.5W.
A 9V block battery struggles to produce 200 mA: 9V * 0.2A = 1.8W.
In fact a single AA 1.5V alkaline battery can easily produce 2A of current, for a 3W output, far more than that 9V can do.
