good morning,
I'm a student of master degree in aerospace engineer and I want to start to have some fun with Arduino. I am wodering if Arduino has some protection system, I don't want to burn evrything the first time

Thanks a lot

The Arduino is hard to kill. It is protected from drawing more than 500 mA from the USB cable.

It can be damaged by stupidity. iE, short circuits or failure to use limiting resistors or applying voltages over what it is rated at.

Other than that, it is a good thing to play with.

AVRs are fairly tolerant of abuse (the board itself has a few parts that are easier to trash than the chip), but you can destroy them by exceeding their ratings.

It's worth noting that you can get very cheap arduino clones on ebay, so trashing your Arduino isn't as big of a deal as you might think.
