ProtoShield

HI all

I bought the SparkFun Protoshield and have built it up- the reset button doesn't appear to work, and I am assuming then that none of the LED's or buttons are already connected up for anything? In this carse how do you feed the connectors for the Buttons and LEDS to the Ardiuno board? It would be useful to have an instruction sheet with the ket and some examples of it's use and applications

Thanks in advance, Garth

You might also want to ask for help in the SparkFun forums, since they designed the final kit and produced it. But I'll take a shot.

Did you solder some female pins upside to the protoshield to fit into the ICSP pins on the Arduino board? They're needed to make the reset button work. The LEDs (AFAICT) are not connected to anything by default. You'll have to solder a wire to JC2 or JC3 and plug it into one of the female headers connected to the Arduino pins.

Hi

Yes, I have built the board in full, all plugs and pins to connect into the Arduino board, and both switches. Thanks for the pointer of the other pins to connect the LEDS, I'll check the solder rails again on the board, but could not see anything that connects the switchs to pins

It looks like you use the button by soldering a wire to JC1 (and taking it to a pin). The reset button is connected by the trace that goes under the breadboard to one of the six holes on the other side. There should be something that connects that hole to the male pins on Arduino board below.
