Provisioning and the mDNS

Greetings. Can someone clarify the purpose of the mDNS in the provisioning process? I would have thought that it would keep the ssid/pscode pairs of the current and past networks, like my cellphone, so that I don't have to re-enter each time - or do the manual AP provisioning. However, in the absence of non volatile memory it seems a little useless, no?

  • Does the WINC1500 have any flash or other memory?

  • Is there a way to do this, with a micro SD shield e.g.?

Thanks -
