Proximity detection with hc05?

I'm trying to build a keyless security system for my car. What i want to do is have the arduino look for my phone's bluetooth mac address and trigger a relay when it is detected without connecting to it or sending any commands or anything so i don't need, can't nor want to program an app. I just want to leave my phone's bluetooth on and keep it in my pocket, unlock the doors and start the car with the push button. A bonus would be to only unlock the doors after a certain signal strength i.e. After the phone gets close enough. Is that possible with the hc05 or should i get another type of module?
I know that's not the most secure type of keyless entry. If my mac address gets exposed it's a free car now so if anyone could comment on that, that'd be great. Maybe a changing key generator system? Can i code that into something like a mega? But that would need an app anyway.
Further down the road i would like to add a functionality where i could connect to the module for things like remote start but still be able to enter and start the car without connecting or opening the app.

With this brief description it could likely be possible.
