Hello all. I'm a beginner when it comes to circuitry and Arduino. I'm looking to wire my MKR WIFI 1010 to an Omron Inductive Proximity sensor that uses a 12V power supply. I currently have a bread board, wiring and 4.7k ohm resistors. I assume I may need to get different resistors for this project. Can anyone explain the wiring needed to get accurate readings from this sensor? The end goal of this project is to read the output of this sensor and capture the rotations per minute of the metal object passing the sensor.
Why any resistors at all? What is your circuit? Accurate readings will be either on or off, no in between.
That's good. Please read the forum introductory threads. You will see there that schematics or wiring diagrams are needed for questions like this.
Which one of the 58,465 inductive prox sensors that Omron makes, do you have? Did you download and read the data sheet?
