Hi all. New here but have a question about a potential project.
We have a need to make sure that some mobile devices (cell phones) do not leave a certain area/room of a building. Was wondering if anyone has made an Arduino project that could send an alert email or other signal if a specially encoded device (RFID?) hit a certain distance threshold from a central station. Open to any advice.
Problem is that standard RFID readers are generally very short range. You need to google "asset protection". The general idea here is that a transponder on the asset is constantly pinged and an alarm is raised when it don't respond. The other way is to have RFID readers on all the exits.
This is not really an arduino project as such as the arduino's role in any such system is very small. It is an RF project and depending on your skill / budget / requirements could range from very hard to impossible.
