after receiving the engraver I purchased another Laser Module, while installing the new module into LaserGRBL program it asked if I wished to update firmware, fool that I am, I thought yes of course I want the newest and bestest firmware though after this silly move the system is not functioning in the manner it had in the past, the "X" & "Y" axises are still proper, but the Laser if all attached comes on when I pull in the machine the LaserGRBL control panel doesn't stop it, and I have not method of turning it off except by pulling the plug, I am asking if anyone has in fact had anything similarly happen to them and what was the remedy that helped, I tried other alternatives with no success.

Have you had a look at this page? (assuming you use LaserGRBL)
thank you for your response and yes they in fact mentioned that the issue was possibly the chip issue and that I should look into the issue here due to the LaserGRBL program was running perfectly
No idea what you mean by "chip issue". It was "running perfectly". You upgraded firmware. Then it wasn't working. Sounds like a configuration issue to me. But I'm no expert on the subject.
It may help someone else help you if you give some details on your machine. Brand, type, etc. Maybe a photo of the control board or a link to some place selling that exact machine. The more info you can provide, the better answers/help you'll get.
If the update was just for the lasergrbl program you should not have any issues.
If you updated GRBL itself on your laser mainboard then you may have to change the laser pwm pin or downgrade to a GRBL version that works with that board.
As Danger suggests please add as much detail as possible including working links.
