Purchasing arduino and related items in bangalore

Hi Guys,

I am a software developer who wants to learn arduino as a hobby.

I want to try a simple project which is explained in this link: Electronics for iPhone Developers Tutorial: Create an Arduino Traffic Light! | Kodeco

In the above link author has proposed following items to purchase:

  1. Arduino Uno
  2. A Sparkfun Inventor’s Kit
  3. A green LED (not included in the kit), which you need for this tutorial.
  4. A Arduino Ethernet Shield

As a newbie wanted to know:

Q1- Shall I purchase all the items suggested by him?
Q2 - Any recommendations for newbie like me?
Q3 - What is the best way to get all or required items in Bangalore, shall I purchase online (any recommended portal?) or shall I go to the shop to purchase it (any recommended shop?)?

Please bear with me, just looking for appropriate guidance :blush:
