Puredata -> Arduino : sending multiple bytes

Can someone reply with a link or example of a pd patch sending multiple bytes to an arduino?

There's lots of example patches of single bytes or strings, but I need to vary five 1 byte variables from
pd sliders.

I have tried constructing a talkback test program using the Messenger library but it doesn't seem to be working,
its just giving ascii and my pd [pack] object is not working.

There must be a PD patch AND pde program out there that demonstrates this?
