I was wondering if it ok to PWM a mosfet and if anyone has any ideas as to which one I should use?
I am modifying my RC car to run off an arduino and xbee. I tried using the motor shield to power the drive motor but it would not provide a large enough current (I had no idea how much current it would need). I was then wondering if I can PWM a MOSFET to power the motor (it runs off 9.6v battery and uses quite a few amps).
Just make sure you get a logic level FET so you can switch it on fully with 5V. Also put something like a 100R resistor in the gate to protect from over current when the gate capacitor is first switched on.

Ok, thanks, that's the kind of thing I was wanting to know about.
20mph automated RC car coming up soon!
