Quality servos for a good price?

Hi,

does anyone know of a manufacturer that offers high-quality servos at a reasonable price?
max. 25 dollars per piece.

I suspect you would have better luck with a distributor or retailer. Quantity ordered makes all the difference.

What u mean by quantity ordered ?

I MEAN HOW MANY ARE YOU ORDERING? Usually breaks in price come in units of hundreds. Manufacturers ship in case quantities.

'High-Quality' without the detail of the requirement and explantion is somewhat meaningless.

In general terms, for more realiabity and ability to withstand stress, go for metal gear servos.

But it does depend on your (kept secret) application.

20 pieces

Well, they shouldn't break or wear out very slowly. Offer high power and not be too expensive... you can expect that with a servo for 150 dollars, but in the lower price segment you run the risk of buying cheap goods that are either already broken or will break quickly.

Secondary:
would be nice if they weren't too loud, needed little power and reacted quickly, but as I said, that's secondary

I want them for a walking robot

i doubt a manufacturer would even talk to you for that quantity.

Well thanks a lot for your advice... :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

When you decide on a unit, see if a retail store will give you a price break for 20 units.

What size of servo? If you get metal gear they will not wear out near as quickly

Small, but actually it doesn't play a big role. I actually thought that maybe one or the other brand would be named here, or brands that I shouldn't buy under any circumstances.

Since I want to buy 20 pieces, I don't want to buy junk. And since I'm building a robot and will probably rebuild it countless times, I want to use the servos again and again, so it would be nice if they didn't break down straight away or have malfunctions. Apparently, aircraft model builders use completely different servos than RC car users, so I wanted to emphasize again that I neither build aircraft nor RC cars.

Hello bluebook
Make a list of preferred suppliers and send them a sensor specification, including logical and physical sensor characteristics, and ask for an RFQ with price, delivery times, etc....

Have a nice day and enjoy programming in C++ and learning.

You need to learn more about your requirements before you can go searching for servos. You need to know weight, size, torque, and ... other stuff. While you may not be doing either aircraft or car, the fora for remote control aircraft and cars are probably the best place to look for that sort of knowledge, as well as vendor recommendations. Not to mention the various robot builders.
Prices per servo range from about $2 to several hundred dollars. You probably don't need all of the servos in a walking robot to have the same power, any more than the muscles in a human are all the same size.
My general impression (without much actual experience) is that the cheap Chinese servos ($2) aren't necessarily that much lower in quality than similar $20 servos from the local hobby shop, but super-high-quality, high-power servos are never cheap.

See https://servodatabase.com/

Or maybe info from a well-trusted robotics-oriented vendor like https://www.pololu.com/search/compare/23

I've had very good (RC) results with this brand: https://www.corona-rc.com/product/6/

Thank you Hans, i will take a look on it

Thanks westfw, I think I'll go with mid-range servos, the size is irrelevant because I design the robot based on the size of the servos, so small ones make them small, larger ones a little bigger. Basically, it shouldn't be too small and weak, since a heavy battery including electronic components must also be accommodated...but I think I'm on the safe side with a servo torque of 5-10 kg.
