A Load Sensor sends data serially with a packet length of 163 bytes with a frequency of 60 packets per second.
Serial Communication ports of a Load Sensor are connected to the digital pins of an Arduino (Microcontroller) and a program is written for receiving data from the load sensor using Software Serial Library of Arduino. (Max Baud Rate of Software Serial is 9600 Mbps)
a. Discuss the possibility of data loss during the communication with appropriate reason. (Assuming baud rate = bit rate)
b. Suggest the optimum length of packet for the communication.
Arithmetic first:
60Hz * 163 = 9780 bytes per second.
Assume 1 start, one stop, no parity = 10 bits per character.
So 97800 bits per second (aka "baud").
Now 9600 Mbps = 9.6 Gbps, so you're using 97800 / 9.6x109 = 0.001% of the bandwidth of the link.
Where's the problem? ;D
Just one other thing (in a Columbo stylee);
9.6Gbps is 600 times the clock speed of a standard Arduino. (in other words, 600 bits for every clock cycle of the Arduino).
