I need help about the circuit design above. Is it possible to power the arduino with 9v and power the 3 MG996R servo motors with 6v external power?
Yes, you can do that but your UNO won't operate for very long on a 9V battery
It's okay for me. thanks for help
Have fun!
see https://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1842389.pdf
assuming your UNO draws ~50mA and you have a brand new, fully charged Ultra Power 9V Duracell battery then you can expect a bit less than 8 hours before the voltage drops below the recommended 7V input for the DC power jack.
and good idea to power the Servo separately. The MG996R draws 170mA to 400mA under no load operation (and way more under a stall condition) so as you can see from the graph, you would not be able to power the full thing from just the 9V battery, voltage would drop immediately.
yes, I am aware of I can't power the whole thing from a single 9v battery. I am trying to power the arduino with the 9v battery. And to power the 3 servos I thought 4xAA battery is enough. what do you think?
yes, as @jim-p said, it will work for some time
the graph above gives you an estimate of how long this 9V battery will last ➜ less than 8 hours.
