Hows the dead band on your mg996r servo's? I'm having to replace components on mine because the servos don't turn until i tell them to go greater then 13-14 degree's from their starting point.
Dead band on mine is much less then 10 degrees. I think there are several manufacturers that make these, and there is a big difference in quality. I have seen some with bushings inside, mine have ball bearings.
The servos on my hexapod are under a lot of load, they get hot pretty fast. The center starts to "move around" as they get hot.

Ah that makes sense and nice hexapod! Double ultrasonic sensors for better collision detection because of the height of the bot I assume?

Yep, these should work with your MG996R servos. I bought the same horns, used them to built a hexapod with 18 MG996R servos.
did the horns you bought have same dimensions as these in the link ? I was assuming that 25T horn should fit to MG995 and 996R as well , is this true ? I have ordered 10 horns for my 6 DOF arm anyway , hope they will work fine with me . Thanks for your help .
