I plugged in the PING sensor exactly as shown in the schematic in the tutorial, however, the sensor does not seem to be working correctly. Here were the two problems that occurred:
the sensor is not giving accurate readings. If the sensor is stationary, it gives a reading of 0. Also, when I could get it to give a reading, it said that the object (a flat piece of cardboard) was 12 inches away when it was only 4 inches away.
when my hand gets close to the arduino board the reading become huge (like 42 inches) and it gives a large amount of reading as well.
Any suggestions as to why this is happening.
