Question about SENSOR for monitoring water level

Good Day! I just want to ask what sensor will probably can monitor water level with the range of 15 meters? I was worried because until now I cant find suitable sensor for my project .. Please help me :'(

How accurate do you require the measurement?

Hobby sensors like sonar and IR would probably not have sufficient range.

Maybe a weighted float around a shaft that is attached to a rotary encoder. Count the pulses up and down to get the distance.

15 meters... Do you mean the water level will vary 15 meters? Or will the sensor be 15 meters away? In either case, the sensor would be 15 meters from the surface at some point, so radar would be the best option. And very expensive.

Give some more application details, and we may be able to help come up with something.

One approach is to mount a pressure sensor below the lowest level that the water will fall to.

15m is quite a head! So it would not be an inexpensive pressure sensor.
