Question about the ESP8266 Arduino IDE Wifi scanning

Hello I'm using the Sample Esp8266 wifi scanning sketch to scan for networks. It great and all. But The problem is i only would like to scan one channel only and not all the channels at once. I been searching online for help and only things i found was for scanning all channels. I'm not sure how i can only scan one channel. The example sketch i have below is just for to scan all channels.

I'm not much of a coder but Wifi still new to me.

Looking at the headers for this library on GitHub I see this:

        int8_t scanNetworks(bool async = false, bool show_hidden = false, uint8 channel = 0, uint8* ssid = NULL);

Which implies that you can specify a channel to search for.
