I am confused as to what component I could possibly use for this project. I need to push a button that’ll make something push unto a spring, but I don’t know what to use to make that something move towards the spring in the first place.
I was thinking a motor but idk how that would work.. here’s a visual to help you better understand, the brown diagonal line needs to be pushed down by whatever the black area could be, onto the springs which are the red.
It certainly looks like the black bit could easily be a servo arm (if it's an appropriate size).
So perhaps we need a few more details like the dimensions of all this, how the "brown thing" actually moves (pivoted? where?) and a few weights and/or strength of springs. In other words what are you actually talking about?
Or maybe the brown thing could actually be the servo arm... (as distinct from being pressed by the servo arm... that is, press the spring directly with the servo arm.)

Indeed. It all depends on what's attached to where and why. I.e. what we're actually talking about. The OP hasn't given us many hints yet!
