A few years ago, I built a controller for my radiator fan. It works very well and reports the temperature data to my Android, but it does have difficulty connecting. That version used a full lower side back plane ground.
I wanted to upgrade it to install more robust connectors and run the fan a few second after the engine was turned off. I inadvertently forgot to install the back plane before getting the boards made. Since I had the board I decided to make one prototype for testing. Consequently it works beautiful and connects instantly.
I did read years ago, one casual comment about the BLE not working very well with a back plane but no further discussion at the time and I cant find it.
Can any one comment on this or do I really need a back plane.
The old version, with a back plane has about 15,000 miles of flawless operation, with the exception of difficult to connect, and a few years. I would hate to jinks that by not installing a back plane.
