Question on the gel protectant on the MS5803 pressure sensor

When playing around with the MS5803 pressure sensor i used my finger to test the pressure and some of the gel protectant came off. I want to know if this messes up any readings and if so is there anything that can be done to fix it. I have applied a picture below the gel is the white stuff in the ring. Any advice on how to tackle this ?

More then likely this did not damage your sensor. It more then likely is a moisture barrier to protect the chip. The only real answer is to check with the sensor supplier. This response is to help you get started in solving your problem, not solve it for you.

The kind of soft gel you need is only available in large packs and therefore it will probably cost more than a new sensor. Even if you were to successfully repair the sensor the calibration curve will likely be messed up thus requiring you to do your own calibration.
