Questions on powering UNO from an L298M Motor Driver board-2A

I'm trying to power an L298M Motor Driver board-2A Large Heatsink (SKU: RP-030320) and an Ardunio UNO with a single 24VDC power supply. The Motor Driver board has a 5VDC terminal available that should be able to power the UNO. The question is where, on the UNO, should I connect the 5V? I tried connecting it to the UNO power Vin connector but this power input point requires 7V - 12V. I'm hesitant to connect directly to the +5 power pin since the UNO description page says "Supplying voltage via the 5V or 3.3V pins bypasses the regulator, and can damage your board. We don't advise it."

My second question is what is the recommended method to connect the UNO GND to the Motor Driver board? There is no GND pin on the board other than the GND terminal for VCC.

My arduino uno get 5V from the L298H-bridge board. The motor driver board 5V out to the arduino 5V out. Yes ist OUT on the arduino. Maybe its not a proper connection but working. :stuck_out_tongue:
