Questions on the Arduino XBee

Is it possible to get the Arduino with a XBee sheild to communicate w/ the computer using one board? If so would you be able to upload sketches to the board wirelessly?

I don't care much about uploading code wirelessly as much as being able to communicate arduino -> pc without a second arduino. I believe i have to buy a USB XBee reciever and transmitter or something.

Would be nice if someone could explain, i am looking to get one for my arduino.

Thanks.

This thread has a solution that you may suit your needs: http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1234792142

The problem is not sending wireless , But having to reset it.

I have to manually press the reset button on the board .

I use a xbee explorer for the pc end , and use a xbee shield or Xbee - Simple Board
The other.

Hi Peter, I would think an Arduno board at the same price as the XBee explorer would have been a better choice, why did you go with the XBee explorer?

I wanted the xbee explorer just to connect to the PC, for updating and data collection .

Wow , I had a second look at the links I posted , I didn`t think I paid that much for it.

I didn`t !!!!
