R-2R ladder ADC - is it possible?

I can't seem to find anything on this online... at least nothing saying that r-2r ladder ADC is possible. What would the circuit look like for one? Anyone know of any resources on this?

Thank you.

Yes, entirely possible.
I wouldn't go for more than about four bits though.

Are you asking about a ADC or a DAC?

You seem to like posting your homework questions.

Check out a post at my blog: dduino.blogspot.com

I made one and it worked quite well.

and james - you seem to enjoy useless activities including copying and pasting older posts. Good observation. And actually, thanks to someone's private message after posting that thread helped me get started without giving me the answer directly, and without being a douchebag.

Sorry for being a beginner.

God forbid we use the internet to find solutions to problems. Should have remembered this is only for porn and cat gifs.

btw. yes. It was a question on a take home exam - just got a reply from my professor - (and like I thought originally before posting after searching to no avail,) he meant DAC not ADC. I was just nervous that this was something I had missed.

So nope - don't need help any more. R-2R ladder DAC exists, and I know how to build one.

Thank you to the few of you who attempted to be helpful.

And to the l2google comment. Before you respond with a comment that quit being funny 6 years ago, if you had googled it yourself, you would realize there was nothing about an R-2R ladder ADC. Only DACs.

When, or if, you grow up you will learn that inside every A/D is a D/A, so it is perfectly possible to make a A/D with a R-2R ladder D/A.

I actually know that! I must be grownup enough.

What's the nonsense of this homework solution seeker is talking about? Do the moderators have to vote before they can ban or kick someone out? Maybe chase down his IP address and send to nearby universities? Never seen such brat before, asking homework solution like someone on this forum owes one to him.
