R4 WIFI Logic Level

This is about the R4 WiFi's 3.3V logic level and connecting it to a 2004 I2C LCD that runs on 5V.
Do I really need a logic level converter to keep the R4 WiFi safe, or can I just connect it directly?

P.S. I’ve seen many people on Google and YouTube connect it directly.

Are you sure that the R4 WiFi uses 3.3V logic levels and not 5V levels ?

Maybe it is my fault.
It could be for ESP32-S3

The R4 WiFi has an ESP32 on board to provide WiFi and Bluetooth and that does use 3.3V logic but its pins are not exposed to the outside world

Yeah it only provides wireless.

The QWIIC is indeed 3.3V not 5V
