Radio reciever with remote control

Hello folks

I know there is a load of different radio recievers and remote controlls out there, and i just don`t know whitch i should by for my project.

I want to build an alarm system for my basement that i want to power on/off with a remote. I want a good radio reciever and a high quality and small remote control that fits the reciever.

Off course the reciever must talk to an arduino or an Wemos D1 Mini etc.

The range is not critical, but its important that it just works, and i want something with good quality and simple to use.

But i think 50 meter is a good range.

SÃ¥ what radio reciever with a small quality remote control should i pick?

Where will you put the antennas?
Paul

What du you mean with "where"?

I will put the antennas inside an enclosure, possible inside my basement.

Have you ever seen the UHF yagi antennas on business roofs? Those are for security systems that must be reliable and sure to be able to communicate alarm conditions. Your plan is ridiculous. You need an antenna for both ends that is in the clear and able to visually see each other.

Why do you talk about gigantic antennas?

Impossible to say really, it rather depends on the exact construct of the basement, what the floors and walls are made of etc. Radio wave dont tend to get very far underground.

Its possible that even the longest range radios, when operated legally, wont work.

Never mind. I think i figured it out by my self.
