radiofrecuency transmiter reciever sc2262 sc2272 433mhz, leds blink

i have made a radio frecuency trasmiter of 433mhz with sc2262/ sc2272. as in the pic.

it works fine except that when the receiver is more than 1 meter away the leds instead of keeping steady, they blink when i push the trasnmiter buttom.

i tried used a regulator in the receiver or power it from the computer usb but still blinks when it is 2,3 meters away.

any idea why?

What are you using for an antenna ? (on Tx and Rx )

a wire of 1/2 of wavelength 346.5mm tx and rx the same.

What circuit are you using for the receiver? With even a simple superregenerative receiver, like the one on this page http://www.hqew.net/product-data/pt2272/pt2272-circuitdiagram.html you should have no problem to get 100 meters range.

You may get better results with a 1/4 wave antenna (17 cm) than a half-wave antenna.

Make the Tx antenna coiled 20 guage insulated hookup wire 20 cm long, Rx straight , same kind of wire, 17 cm.
