Can some one please confirm if the Rain Water Level Sensor Module Detection Liquid

If it can be submerged in water to measure the level of liquid?

That sensor will indicate the presence of water but I can't see how it could be used to get a level (amount) of the water. The presence of water lowers the resistance across the grid. Once it is fully submerged, the resistance won't change any more, I think.
