Rally timing system

Hi,
I have read few posts here and no one exactly states what I'm looking for. I'm looking for sensors, most likely RFID sensors, to detect when a rallycar (moving fast) passes by.

The distance is up to 10m (more is better) and weather may also be an issue.
Any idea wich sensors, or other equipment I should me looking for?

RFID is hardly usable at high speed or distance. Can multiple cars pass by at the same time?

Have being building a complete timing and tracking system now for a year or two now have tried RFID an none work. Now have an rf transciever design that works well.
