Fact numero uno:
Bananas are slightly radioactive

Everything is

As are other foods that contain high levels of potassium - an essential nutrient.

Inspector: is this radioactive?
Me: Yes!
Inspector: Oh, that's problematic.
My Boss: but less so than a banana.
Inspector: Ah, that's ok then!

True story...

Immediately following Chernobyl, everything edible in Europe was radioactive above allowable limits. Faced with no "edible" food, limits were raised. Problem solved.

More dangerous than bananas is very red wine ...

In French banana units are called "Unité Bananas".
A large quantity of forty bananas is named "Unité Bananas 40" or short(!) UB40.

Already decades ago there was this hidden warning:

UB40 - Red Red Wine

Just google for it.

not quite

however...

the orange carrot as we know it is a genetic modification. the OG carrots were purple

Modified by Dutch farmers to honour their royal family, the House of Orange.

seriously? I thought it was to make them more appetizing (at least that's what I heard)

agreed
purple --> :eggplant: why not orange??

look at you, combining two facts to one

is that why it is orange?

Not all were purple. Some varieties were white.

"are" purple... you can still grow them and find them wild.

weird looking

I find wild carrots mostly white with a few stripes of purple.

Turnips, swedes, sugar beets and potatoes are all white root vegetables. Are they all the same?
