Hello - I am new to the Forum and new to Arduino so please correct/redirect me if this isn't an appropriate place for this post!
I recently acquired a working mobility scooter and want to try my hand at an Arduino based project. My "vision" is to hack an old wireless PS3 controller to operate (via RF) the chassis of the mobility scooter. Basically, Ive removed the seat, or top half, of the scooter and plan to build a utility dump cart.....or something......onto the scooter chassis. I will be operating (2) 24V wheel chair type motors with (2) 12V lead sealed batteries in series. The scooter navigates like a tank....no steering components....just altering the speed of the L & R drive wheels
I'm looking for a good tutorial or 'starting off point'. Ive been trolling the Forum for a few days and I cant seem to find what I'm looking for.....which is step 1, parts list. (It helps me visualize the entire project if I know all the pieces I need to put it all together).
What I think Ill need:
Wireless PS3 remote
Arduino Uno for the remote
2.4 MHz XBee Transceiver
- Transmitter for remote
- Receiver for the Unit
2nd Arduino Uno for the Unit
(2) Motor Controllers rated high enough for 24V motors - 1 ea heatsink for motor controllers
Then of course the code to link it all together.....but from a hardware standpoint, what am I missing?? What do I need to properly supply the Unit Arduino from a 24V power supply?
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I would appreciate any help you can provide!
