RC lawn mower with windshield wiper motor

Hello everyone!

I have a project to develop by own without having to spend a lot of money which is a rc lawn mower, and acessible motor available is windshield wiper but most projects on internet use wheelchair motor instead. is there any tip or concern?

let's talk about it!

Regards!

Well wiper motors are normally mounted onto a gear system for sweeping a wiper back and forth.
Some mechanical skill and tools may be needed to repurpose the motor - change over the pinion
to something you can work with like a belt drive.

yes markT.

this video below demonstrates the controlling of its speeds but seems that it doens't have a very good rpm when provided maximum voltage, right?

video wiper without gear:

I was considering to use two each per wheel and the each motor without it's gear or repurpose with other gear scheme.

any other concern?

Other point is that this winshield wiper motors seems to consume more current than the other types, so the battery life would be reduced.

Any other suggestion to use other type low cost motor? maybe bldc or CC?

"low cost" and "long livetime" are two things that don't fit well.

You may have never encountered 12 inches of snow piled up on a windshield, with the blades frozen to the glass. Wiper motors are built to break the rubber blade free from the glass and try to clear the snow away. Lots of torque is required!
