Hello everyone, I am working with an RFID RC522 Reader/Writer, and to get to know this device I am making a simple security system for now just using serial, HOWEVER every video I watch online all seem out of date and no longer work, I know I need to include SPI and RFID however how do I check for and then copy the serial num on the card? Thanks also if you have an updated video that will help as well!

You have some hardware that you provided no links to.
Almost certainly, the manufacturer provided an Arduino library and examples. It would appear that you have not bothered trying any of the examples.
It is also certain that you posted no code, did not describe what it actually does, did not describe what you want it to do, and did not describe what problems you are actually having.
Therefore, there is not a snowball's chance in hell of us helping you.
