Has anyone re-programmed the controllers used in these sorts of products?
What type of MCU do they use? And is there a board package available for it in Arduino IDE.
Experiment by cutting off the controller, expose the three wires, guess at VCC, GND and SIG. They probably are not WS2812, but if they are, FUN!
If you're going to this length, open the case and look at the circuit board. I don't think they are Arduino compatible, but I could be wrong.
Whatever this week is the cheapest that Matches the requirements.
Unlikely... And don't forget the programmer... And maybe the MCU comes with OTP-ROM and cannot be changed.
