Re: Read ipod controls and send to pc

Wow thanks for the reply... not
how do you not know what i mean by computer i said PC in the title which should tell you I'm using windows but really I'm sure it does not matter if i was using linux or mac so what do you mean undefined?

Also I know I'm new here and don't know a lot but i know enough to where i would not reply to someones post saying "yes, in theory" because almost everything is possible in theory. Maybe if you want more detail you could ask some questions because i have given all i know.

I was hoping that some one could let me know where to get started
i know this is not a typical project to begin with when learning but that's why I'm asking people what this project would involve.

The iPod serial protocol is described in several places. Here's one: http://www.adriangame.co.uk/ipod-acc-pro.html

It is undoubtedly possible for an Arduino to impersonate an iPod by implementing this protocol.

i want the stereo to talk to the computer and this is my main problem is how to get the commands from the stereo to the pc. i thought using an arduino i could read the commands from the stereo and send the right command to the computer. is this a good application for an arduino or should i be thinking about a different way? Like if its possible to have the computer to read the signal by its self (through what connection?).

this http://gnunilink.sourceforge.net/ im done with this post
