Re: USB, serial/com ports, FTDI drivers, how & what ?

Do you actually have more than 1 Arduino board, or are you just swapping the ATMEGA168? If it’s the latter, did you buy chips with the bootloader on them?

However neither one of them work; error messages are put out.

Can you give us the exact wording of those error messages, please? That way, we’ll have a clue how to diagnose the problem.

I am running a IMac and Leopard 10.5.6 and a Decimillia.
It used to work fine.

I updated to Aurdino app 13 and loaded USB drivers per instructions. All installs went OK but when attempting to start Aurdino13.App
I get the following error message.

Uncaught exception in main method: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /Users/Darnell/Desktop/arduino-0013/Arduino 13.app/Contents/Resources/Java/librxtxSerial.jnilib:

Im a Mac newbe and need help.

TIA

DOZ, not sure why you added your comment to this thread, rather than start a new one (as far as I can tell the two issues aren’t related?) but I encountered your problem the other day.

Have a look at this post to solve your UnsatisfiedLinkError issue.
