Don't bump!
Don't bump your thread after an hour. Because of the different time-zones the person who knows the answer may be asleep, or away for the day. Maybe after a couple of days.
If your question didn't get an answer, honestly review it to see if you posted enough information to help people answer you. Did you even ask a question?
I would much prefer people to add additional information rather than just making a "bump" comment. In those couple days you should have done some work on your own to try to resolve the question you posted to the forum so giving an update on your what you've tried and what the results were would make a much more useful bump.

The chain links icon works for me. You can also just type out the hyperlink markup manually. For example, the markup for the link I posted above is:
[url=http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=148850.0]http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=148850.0[/url]
I do think it's a good idea to make URLs clickable. It's easy enough for me to copy and paste it to my browser URL bar but it's just that little bit of extra work. You want to make it as easy as possible for people to help you.
